This phrase is often used when someone is teasing, annoying, or simply carrying on a bit too much. Despite its literal wording, it does not necessarily sound harsh. Among family and friends, “Would you ever stop?” can be accompanied by a smile or laugh and become part of the banter rather than a serious reprimand.
